about
Wolfskinderen is Nathalie Smoor (mime/performer) and Marielle Verdijk (scenographer/performer). Starting from scratch, having only defined the outlines of the performance by formulating a theme and using random materials, they improvise, act and react on each other. This results in low-fi performances where ‘playing around’ is taken to level where it borders on self-consciousness, cutting the edges of entertainment.
Wolfskinderen are researching and questioning the dramaturgical grid of daily life. How to survive in modern day society, what skills to develop, and how to use or break down this excisting grid.
[Feral children, also known as wild children or wolf children, are children who've grown up with minimal human contact, or even none at all. They may have been raised by animals (often wolves) or somehow survived on their own. In some cases, children are confined and denied normal social interaction with other people. - from: www.feralchildren.com]
